CAPI (Children Accident Prevention Initiative) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization focused on preventing road traffic crashes and fatalities involving school children across Nigeria.
CAPI is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the safety and protection of school-aged children across Nigeria. We work to prevent road traffic crashes involving children especially those who walk to and from school by promoting safer mobility, advocating for child-focused road safety policies, and strengthening community awareness. We are members of the Global Alliance of NGOs on Road Safety and our members are part of the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.
CAPI aims to scale interventions across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, prioritizing high-risk regions identified through data and community feedback.

Our mission is to design, scale and implement practical road safety interventions that protect school children—especially in high-risk communities and along major school routes. We work to reduce road traffic crashes involving young people by promoting safe mobility, strengthening policies, and equipping communities with the knowledge and tools to keep children safe.
